Theme: ‘Railways’
I would like to take part in this 4talent competition sponsored by channel 4. Two prizes of £2000 will be awarded. Six finalists will be selected for premiere screening at the Barbican cinemas with a special awards event as part of the City of London Festival 2008.
The Brief:
"In 2008 we are inviting students to respond to ‘railways’ in their short films. Your short film can reflect any aspect of the ‘railways’ theme in as great or as subtle detail as you would like.
You may choose not to feature an actual railway, but your own representation of the
theme should be evident somewhere within the work. We encourage you to think
creatively! You can also create whatever genre of film you like: drama, animation, comedy, music video, documentary etc."

p.s. The title for the film project is "City in Motion"
i like the brief a lot and i think it applies to your interest in motion graphics as well.but is it possible a FMP to be an entry for a competition?

I would strongly advise that you do not undertake this project for the following reasons:
1. The brief is written and published, its is therfore not your own, personal and original brief.
2. It is a competition brief, we have just completed the 'competition' element in Unit 2.
3. Many other students would be undertaking this brief.
4. Where is the argument for success if you fail to win the competition outright.
5. The organisers will offer you no feedback.
Do this project by all means in your own time, for your own portfilio, but it would not be acceptible as your final project outcome.
