My FMP will based around promoting and branding for a new up and coming girl group named RCSK, they are an alternative retro group, their image is based around 80s retro rope chains and vibrant colours.
My plan is to work along side them to design a website for them along with creating a music video for one of their singles as well as working on their album art.
I will be working on their merchandise such as their clothing range, which will involve me collaborating with a clothing designer to create a RCSK range.

sounds good! Are they good? Sounds like you're planning to do alot with them, website, video, merchandise etc, so could be enough for a final major Polly x
I think for it to stand out from being an ordinary project, the band would have to get some strong publicity for your art work to be seen and exposed. (On Tv or album in stores etc.)

I agree with both comments, however, it sounds like you're undertaking a lot... dare i say too much? Creating a good website will take as much time as shooting the video and I think it would be more beneficial to have one strong outcome from these than two less finished ones. The merchandise & branding can go along with either of these...
It was mentioned in the Crit the successes of the project that was in a similar vain to this last year however I think the guy was actually in the band and managed to get some live promotion done...

I also agree with Patrick in that exposure will help to give this an edge.
