Anneka Sandher

1. Design and have manufacture a contemporary board game based around the modern family and contemporary culture. (for adults)

2. Test the limits of lies. Based on my dissertation, changing your identity. I would go out and meet as many people as possible during the project period and lie about who I am. I would change my name, family, age, possibly say I'm the princess of some strange sounding island etc and see how much I can get and get away with.

3.  I'd still love design a series of shop window displays for some big companies.....can anyone see a way of doing and it being being enough for an FMP?!

4. Live by the rules of the magic 8 ball. Every time I want to do something, I have to ask the eight ball and do what it tells me. I could change the dice inside the ball to more relevant answers.

Pleeeease help me! I am quite aware that not all my ideas have a live element but the board game is quite do-able.

hello!
the game could be really good, you could push the boundaries of what a game is, maybe combine it with the magic 8 ball thing, truth or dare type thing..

I like the first one the most. I think you really have to find what kind of edge your going to put it though. It could be negative or positive or funny.

If you really like the third one try and find a small shop which will let you redesign all their shop windows not just one branch.

Hi Anneka,

I like your board game idea the most, for the same reason as I like Jackie's idea in the connection with children's toys.

You'd also be getting alot of leeway in defining the concept of the game and what point youre trying to prove, in the guise of a childrens/family game... Could potentially be quite cynical and edgy (if you wanted it to).

Random thought: Theres a board game featured in a 70's show episode based on life and growing up. Forgot what its called. But you basically start off being born, then grow up to work and so on, confronting the hardships of life along the way.

Perhaps a 21st century rendition of the idea where instead of pitfalls like getting fired or your puppy dying, you get divorced or your friend gets murdered. Maybe you were already thinking along those lines though perhaps less dark.

But in any case, i think your idea could be quite fun. Would love to hear more on it. Hope that helps.

Good luck!

annnnnneka!
the board game is the one that stands out to me the most....designing shop window displays would be awesome too though if the reasoning was strong enough and you managed to get a good store onboard.
I like the eightball idea also but i dont know how it would culminate as a FMP? also sounds similar to a book by Danny Wallace called ''The Yes Man'' where he had to say yes to everything he was asked for a year or something....if you havent heard of it you should read it anyway its an awesome book!
but yah, i like the game idea!

i'm not sure about a board game, it would have to really stand out and have a massive desirable factor as there are thousands of games already out there. What twist would you put on it to make sure people don't just walk past it or instantly think it is going to be boring + other cliches associated with board games.

How many would you make? would you try and get in stocked somewhere? how possible is it?

quite a risky project, could go badly, but also I can see it being really successful? how will it fit into the show>?
