Forming a brand new indie band with another friend of mine. The final outcome will be a CD with different tunes in it. The music will be a mixture of rock and electronica. The package and music videos will also be produced as a promotion for the band. Hopefully, the CD will be able to place in shops for sale.

Helping another student promoting his/her FMP. Work includes pushing the idea and all kinds of promotion such as photography and videos. The outcome could be a book or a website based on the project itself. e.g. could be a dairy from day1 to day30 showing how the work is being produced including all the difficulties he/she has over the period of time.

i like the first idea more as i think there is more potential to develop it and be creative with it.
the 2nd idea you had i think is not going to be a FMP for you, as it would be based on someone's else idea and you'd rather help someone from the industry instead of a student on the same course.

Hi, the first idea is the nicest... but its WAY more than a 16 week project if you haven't actually started the band yet.
You're gonna spend weeks before you've even started with any design and PR...
starting a band takes a long time, it would need to be up and running already for you to start promoting etc, and its not that easy to get a cd in the shops within 16 weeks. Polly x

i also like the first idea, but thepoints reaised here are pertinent.
The time issue.
if you allready have most of the "homework" done then youll probably be fine.
the project could also be around new, faster and more effective ways to promote a band.
if youll do what you´ve proposed, having a cd on sale by the time of the fmp that would be a major achievement.
