>> scratch n' sniff- it is easier to make something scratch n' sniff that one may have thought. make/illustrate/construct a book that has an interactive element, perhaps around the idea of reminicence (with smell being the most evocative of the senses)...
>> design and make a range of plates. design myself/commission illustrators to create a set of homewares (easy to actually make and they don't have to be handpainted in my shop!) within a theme, perhaps picnic or something. actually quite into the idea of making paper ones as well as ceramic ones because of the disposability, making it glamourous. getting them sold in a gallery (easy as i have a contact who owns a small but successful gallery who would be eager to help out) or go big and approach urban outfitters etc (i could go via a company that already make something similar and ask to do a range) research on possible leads in progress at the moment
>> prints. the ultra feminine, dreams, aspirations etc, for bedding, sheets etc.

Really really jelous of your plate idea! could be beautiful. I really want to make a very well made object or series of objects.
Think you'd have to design a whole range though eg diner plate, side plate, bowl, cup, saucer etc. Maybe make it into a contemporary picnic hamper.
Anneka (incase you hadn't guessed)
you should mix the two. A scratch and sniff plate for the starving.
(I don't know how much I'm joking)

Hi Laura,
I personally really like the idea of the scratch n' sniff. Going off on a bit of a tangent here... I remember a computer game from ages ago that came with a scratch n' sniff card to make game more of an 'experience'. I thought it was hilarious.
There doesnt seem to be alot of scratch n' sniff stuff out there anymore - perhaps its the health policies and safety regulations concerning childrens products. I would love to see them brought back.
Hope that helps in some way.
Good luck!

not sure.. in the best way possible they seem to be a bit below what i know you are capable of!
You are great with pattern and surface design but I think it needs to be a tool you use to explore a brief, not a brief itself.
Could you maybe discuss something with Lula to get a live element in there?
