1. Communication device for cyclists
As both a cyclist and a motorist I am often baffled (and endangered) by the intentions of other commuters on bikes. I also find that whilst cycling I want to convey messages to those around me; from a simple "Thank you" to those who give me room to pass, an angry cabby stlye of "Fuck off out of my cycle lane, prick!". This project would involve the design and production of a communication tool for use by cyclist.
2. Cyclists' Bible
As the worlds cities attempt to convert people to the way of the cyclist as a means of combatting ever-increasing congestion and polution, has cycling the new 'path of enlightenment'? The Cyclists' Bible guides the soul to a higher place where you too can feel better than your motoring equivalent, combining appropriate etiquette with the latest in cycling fashion.
3. GPS Drawing
(This idea is far from finished, but I wanted to throw it out there to see what response it got). Spending the coming weeks drawing the most elloborate GPS illustration. Like a gigantic etch-a-sketch piece that could be realised both in digital form and tangibly as a printed mapping outcome. This idea probably rests mostly on what the illustration is of; could also be typographic.

GPS Drawing has definately been done and done well, so I wouldn't do that one...
In reply to the comment above; I've put the GPS drawing down as an idea for the simple reason that I havent come across anything that has made me go 'Wow'! If you have, then I'd like to see it too. The following link really sums up my findings;

I feel that, given the time period, I could generate something beyond this level of usage. I could spend days and weeks drawing (or rather travelling), rather than merely hours. However, I want to be clear, I'm not hugging this as it if it were my precious child. If its a no goer, then its a no goer - I have no qualms in dropping it!
James.
