"A public based campaign promoting live music.
A giant mp3 player with video placed around London, with multiple headphones for the public to hear and see new artists' live music. Design would involve interaction for the listener/viewer and include information concerning the new acts. This could incorporate advertising for programmes currently surfacing, such as "T4 Mobile Act Unsigned" on Channel 4's T4."

i believe that a promotional display should have something that adds to the enviroment.
hmmm
the giant mp3 player could take the sounds of the streets and instantaneously decode them into music
Nice idea. Do you know anywhere which it could be made? You may have a similar problem with planning permission as Heidi and equally the transportation of it might be hard, How large is it going to be? it maybe better having it as a van which looks like a giant MP3 player that way you can drive anywhere with it. Its a good idea so long as you don't mind the high expense which you might find is a lot i don't know.

Hey man...I like the idea of people coming together in one place and interacting with each other and not just the mp3, but as Will said GTS raised the point of planning permission with Heidi and how would you get it made?
Following on the Will's idea of a van or some kind of mobile transport, you could somehow incorporate a live feed to the actual band, so when the person is listening to the song they could then have a quick chat with the band, so then maybe they would be more inclined to buy the single/album and also promotion through word of mouth would be a good thing also. The main obstacle with that would be to actually get a band to agree to something like that (I'm working on the premise of a band in the charts at the moment, although you may know of a band that needs promoting).
It terms of interactivity there are some pretty cool things out there at the moment...you may have heard of them already but Universal Everything have done some good stuff and UVA (United Visual Artists) have also done some nice stuff. The links are below. Jat.
