1) Im interested in looking at celebrity culture and how we love to to hear all about their lives and how normal peoples lives are some how forgotten, and don't seem quite so interesting, yet similar things happen in them....
'Things that happen in the lives of celebrities are similar to that of normal people's, but because they are famous, their stories get plastered all over magazines. I want to create a gossip style magazine based on the lives of my my own social circle, complete with exclusive 'celebrity' launch party.'
problem is, I wouldn't really have an audience, and the magazine wouldn't really be a real magazine, but then does it have to be for this idea?? you get me?
more ideas coming!

It sounds like a cool idea. I think a way that you could take it a step further maybe, would be to actually get it published as an extra "free" magazine in a sunday paper or a free magazine on the tube and see how people respond to it. Make the imagery and people look like a "heat" "hello" magazine would, and see if people realize they are not actual celebrities... (Which they will be after you've gotten it published in the Observer!!!)

Polls, It's true, these celebs are doing normal and mundane things and it graces the press pages. I think Amy Winehouse was removing a stone from her shoe in yesterday's paper and they glorified it to be something else...
I think you're on the right tracks in terms of doing something about you and putting it back into the public ... I think you'd do a great job at it. There might be other ways to do this... will have a think today... However, I think Amalia's idea of having it as a supplement may work...
I love your Tour de Britain stuff too, maybe that could be a section!

Firstly... yeah I get you!
But if I heard correctly it was said that any magazines have to be real. Isn't that why Lisa's idea got shot down?
So think of different outcome's to adapt your theme, other than a magazine...

i think the 'real factor' is the deciding one! If it doesnt actually get printed in the thousands and sold/distributed around where you and your friends live it won't have much impact.
If you could produce like 1000 copies and leave them on the tube/buses and then get photo's of people reading it etc, could be a good twist on the outcomes for the project.
Good concept - needs refinement and clarity on the outcomes.
