This project would show that I can work with a range of different medias and people, also it would highlight my organization skills. Career wise I want to get involved in production and illustration/design focusing on the music industry. Later I would like create a multi media production team. I think this project is a great starting point encompassing the skills I would need.
The project is about creating a brand. The idea is to select a group of girls with no singing talents and brand them as a girl band. The band would then get promoted as real group with their track being played on the radio and the music video being featured on international digital T.V channels (I have already had this confirmed). The success of the band would completely rely on design, marketing and organization skills.
The project would involve;
Print media e.g; Design the bands identity, CD cover, posters, logo etc. - this could be illustration based depending on the trend.
Making a track - I have two producers who will be happy to help with this.
Making a music video - I would art direct and organize the whole thing, collaborating with a music video production team (i have contacted two who said that they would be interested).
Photo shoots - I would art direct and organize the shoots, I have a great make up artist and photographer who are very interested in doing the shoots.
Myspace page - Done by me. The myspace page could contain: A fake MTV cribs clip of the girl band showing off their new house. Fake magazine articles and shots of the band performing etc. All contributing to the identity and marketing of the band.
Getting publicity e.g: getting in mags and on T.V - I would organize this, there are two international music channels who would air the music video up to five times a day.

Hi Farhana! It seems that this idea is too similar to the project you did last year which was a really well resolved. The project has potential for development and is a good one with evidence that these are your intentions but it still doesn't seem that far removed from the project you have done already despite developing areas such as the website, promo shots and myspace profile. Don't you want to bring something new to the FMP instead of just redoing what you have done using other mediums such as film and getting the track made?
didn't Geoff already say no to the girl group/band idea?
Yes i know but I had to choose out of all the ideas I had. The others are so boring. i do want to bring something new to the FMP but that ideas fairy is a no show!
