SAM HARRIS PROPOSAL 5.2

Had a longer chat with Amanda and she said that for Roald Dahl day, (13th September) the museum is changing some of the exhibits and this would leave room for me to do something for them. It is totally open, so I could do a 2D piece or a 3D installation. I can complete it for the show and then it would be ready for the museum for Roald Dahl Day. Presently the museum's pieces revolve around the theme of 'Story-telling' and the understanding of that concept and my piece would probably keep to this theme.

So.. Proposal -

Working in conjunction with The Roald Dahl Museum and Literary Estate, design and create a 2D or 3D exhibit to be displayed in the Roald Dahl Museum to feature in their new collection in time for Roald Dahl Day on the 13th of September 2008.

The piece will reflect the museum's current theme of Story-telling and be complete in time for the end of year show to be moved to the museum afterwards.

I have a meeting at the museum with the curator and the education supervisor during the easter break to talk more about what they want as well as what I would like to achieve.

It's fine that you've made contact with people but a Roald Dahl exhibit sounds a bit dry. just me.

i disagree... I'm a big fan of his books and with the enormous range of stories and works by Dahl, along with the freedom of being able to create almost anything for the exhibit, I think the project has the capability of being really exciting.

In principal an ok project, its prolems appear quiet clear however:

* Although there is some dimensional scope, content will be limited to cultural expectations.
* This task lacks scope for invention, it is a typical professioanl project that you might be expected to do after graduation.
* This could take you a week to undertake?
* I fear it might non-plus the xeternal examiner and not demonstrate to him the enthusiasm that you actually have.
