Kinga Kopycinska
I have been fascinated by decorative patterns that surround us wherever we go. I research into different fields of pattern making and where those patterns come from and where they could be used. The true is that even the dullest and most simple or boring product will glow if it’s decorated with attractive pattern. I would like to produce collections of patterns, which would be suitable for a wide range of product (ceramics: mugs, plates, bowls, cutlery; home: wallpapers, cushions, furniture, curtains, blinds, carpets, frames; stationary: notebooks, pens, photo albums, etc. I have been trying to contact some companies who distribute those products and get in touch with their designers for collaboration. For example Swedish company IKEA is a major retail enterprise in 36 countries around the world. The basic thinking behind all IKEA products is that low prices make well designed, functional home furnishing available to everyone. Attractive, eye catching and colourful patterns highlight the whole range of Ikea’s products. Although, wider choice of designs or special editions of designs and seasonal collections would keep the customers more interested in Ikea’s product.

I think your wallpaper design needs to have certain function. I think Anneka's doing something similar but her one I think is going be magnetic, maybe consider producing a wallpaper that is 3D dimensional, something thats not out there.
I really don't think that this a viable project for a final year graphic design student to undertake- largely because it falls very much into the Textile Designers skills set.
You also make unsubstantiated claims that pattern is a potent visual mechanism in order to make objects appear more interesting, t is probably true that block colour and minamalsm is more en vogue.
We have undertaken surface pattern projects for Dr Martens and currently Momuji- so this area has been well and truly covered.
I advise a radical re-think.
