Lisa Rahman FMP {Progress... the meeting...}

I had the meeting with Ria and her partner Kevin and although it went ok I'm really not sure I want it to be my FMP. I would mainly be producing print work (fine) but... they like the website as it is www.ria-roberts.co.uk . I still feel passionately about the surface print work and textiles and think I could offer them something new, I just don't see how that would tie into the way the website is branded (seeing as this is the source of some of their trade). Plus, they really like the website look (?!) which I wasn't expecting as the prints are just so "cool". Maybe I am being stubborn? I was also a little weary as they kept speaking about "organic growth" ... i.e. a company that grows through natural word of mouth... which essentially leaves the role of a graphic designer redundant but yet they thought promotional material would be useful. If anything it was a really important process and will be working on some shoots for them in the future but this is not my BIG BANG! and I WANT a BIG BANG (As we all do) ! They're still good people and they forwarded the name of a designer who exhibited at the same fair doing "eco-fashion" but more commercial, a good friend of theirs... but "very business orientated" = great for me. I know I need to get a move on, so, I have another meeting with this new person asap...

I really liek the visual chinese whispers idea and the way you elaborated it on your blog. I think it could have real potential and a great opportunity to go out there and meet some great creatives!
