SAM HARRIS PROPOSAL 4.0

So I have been stumped for ideas, but came up with this:

Design and make a flat pack (mail-able) book/pamphlet/advertisement that is a life size pop-up that you can make. I thought of it when I was thinking about mediums and a final piece (which isn't how I normally think.) But I really like the idea of a pop-up book that is life size.

I thought that maybe it could be a campaign for SHELTER possibly and it could pop up into a life size Wendy house or something.

There are a lot of references on paper crafting and ornate pop-ups too.

Anyway. There's my latest.

Sam, i really like this idea.

It reminds me a picture i saw on last years World Press Photo in Lisbon of a group of French activists that gave out ,in Paris, low budget tents to bums.

These would made two things.

1- give shelter to those that need most.
2- and due to their exterior colour (flurescent orange)it would be possible to have a live graph of the populations of homeless living when seen from above.

Live graphic design.

Your idea as potencial.
Specially about its real possibility of using graphic design and proactivity in order to producing them and go out to the streets giving them out.

i am talking about life changing experience here.

There are some people that designed in this field allready.
hope it helps:

very inspiring book, example:
A spining wheel for childrens playgrounds that pumps water to houses in Africa [ water surtage due to weak pipeping is a major problem there])

if you end up going out, count with me.

keep on

I'm not sure I see the point it seems very "novelty". I like the idea of it being something for shelter but would they want a pop up house?

To be honest Shelter was the first thing that came to my mind, but it is more about the pop-up/paper mechanics that i'm interested in really.

Although putting some more thought into it, i would have thought a pop-up shelter would be quite in tune with the Shelter organization.
